Announcing the SIAM 2013 Summer Camp! 

The SIAM student chapter at Florida Tech is pleased to announce the inaugural summer camp in Applied Mathematics. The 2 week program will consist of 3 hour daily sessions from Monday through Friday.

Students will get the unique opportunity to get hands on experience at the cutting edge of modern applied mathematics and operations research, while learning valuable problem solving skills and knowledge of the software language MATLAB, a favorite of engineering and technical companies as well as academia.

Topics Such as

  • Game Theory and Strategy: maximize your changes for success!
  • The Travelling Salesman Problem: Visit multiple friends in the most efficient way!
  • Continuous Optimization: How do we find the best solution to a problem?
  • Image Processing: Learn how computers see
  • Speech Processing: Teach computers to hear like we do!
  • Mathematical Epidemiology: Learn how to model a zombie outbreak!
At only $150 per student, this summer camp is an affordable means to let your children explore their love for Mathematics.
