Announcing the 2015 SIAM Summer Camps! 


The SIAM student chapter at Florida Tech is pleased to announce the third annual SIAM Applied Mathematics Summer Camp (for students in grades 9-12) and the first annual SIAM Junior Applied Mathematics Summer Camp (for students in grade 5-8). Each two-week program will consist of 3 hour daily sessions from Monday through Friday.

SIAM Applied Mathematics Summer Camp

Students (in grades 9-12) will have the unique opportunity to get hands on experience at the cutting edge of modern applied mathematics and operations research, while learning valuable problem solving skills and knowledge of the MATLAB software package and language, a favorite of engineering and technical companies as well as academia. The camp will take place at Florida Tech (Room 120 -- Computer Lab -- Olin Life Sciences Building) on June 22-July 3, 2015 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

Learn About Topics such as

  • Game Theory and Strategy: Maximize your chances for success!
  • The Travelling Salesman Problem: Visit multiple friends in the most efficient way!
  • Image Processing: Learn how computers see!

At only $200 per student, this summer camp is an affordable means to let your children explore their love for Mathematics.

SIAM Junior Applied Mathematics Summer Camp

The goal of this camp is to help students (grades 5-8) develop problem solving and critical thinking skills through hands on activities and real-world applications of mathematics. The camp will take place at Florida Tech (Room 120 -- Computer Lab -- Olin Life Sciences Building) on June 8-19 from 2:00 to 5:00 PM.

At only $200 per student, this summer camp is an affordable means to let your children explore their love for Mathematics.
