About SIAM at Florida Tech
The Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) is a professional organization dedicated to "building cooperation between mathematics and the worlds of science and technology through publications, research, and community." The Florida Tech student chapter of SIAM will represent the Society to the Florida Tech community, and further the efforts undertaken by SIAM as a organization.
In particular, we will prioritize the organization of outreach to the Melbourne, FL community and informative seminars for our members and the Florida Tech community in order to encourage enthusiasm for mathematics and its applications in the public and in our university. The Florida Tech SIAM Chapter is open to graduate and undergraduate students at Florida Tech with an interest in mathematical sciences, computational science, and the applications of mathematics to problems in physics and engineering.
In Fall of 2014, the Florida Tech SIAM Chapter will be assisting with the
which will be held at Florida Tech, and organized by Dr. Ugur Abdulla!
